Dean Buttar

Dean Buttar is the epitome of the phrase, "practice what you preach." A native of the health driven country of New Zealand, Dean incorporates his life's motto, "Kia Kaha" translating to "be strong" not only in his world-renowned training methods, but in his everyday life practices. This New Zealand inspired value system has led him to building his custom tailored gym, New Zealand Fitness.

With a strong professional sports back ground as a rugby star, the discipline of a police academy education, and as a product of the "New Zealand way" Buttar encompasses the vital ingredients needed in order to produce effective and efficient results with each of his trainees that go beyond the gym. "Hei-Matau" a symbol Buttar wears proudly everyday is a symbol in New Zealand signifying the key components to a fulfilled life: prosperity, abundance, fertility and strength. Buttar, along with every trainer at New Zealand Fitness, lives and preaches the importance of these five elements, and implements them in their daily training regimens with every client that frequents the Calabasas based gym.

Dean currently works with clients of all training levels and is currently in the process of developing a program for underprivileged children, so that they too, can learn and live the Kia Kaha way.

She is a three-time fitness title winner in the United States and Canada, has hosted fitness programs on television and graced many fitness industry magazine covers as a model.

Greg Reid

Greg Reid is the mastermind of the physical body. Aside from being one of the most sought out personal trainers for over 20 years, his recognition as an award-winning body builder portrays his lifestyle of dedication to fitness; mind, body, and soul. Reid’s attention to intricate detail concerning the physical and mental self sets him above the rest. He is known as the Physique Connoisseur. Reid’s devotion has been to help people better their lifestyle by learning not just how to incorporate simple health and exercise regimes, but to encompass overall efficiency and effectiveness in movements, specifically concerning posture. Because he is a connoisseur of the physical self, he will emphasize the significance of proper back alignment and spend as many sessions necessary to correct posture before even discussing the methods of weight lifting.

Reid demands your full attention and focus. He does not believe in bringing stress from the office or issues with your spouse into the training session. You will learn to focus on your breathing, being aware of your full body sensory experience. Reid has no intentions of sending a client home bruised and battered from an overworked training session. On the contrary, Reid gives you a session that provides you with more knowledge, awareness, energy, and motivation. For Reid, exercise is not an option; it is a requirement. The Physique Connoisseur will not only help you improve your lifestyle and health, but change your entire perspective on its attainment.

Daniel Sivertsen

Daniel brings a much-needed Australian flavor to New Zealand Fitness.

Graduating from NSW Technical Institute with a BA in Business, and an emphasis in Marketing, Daniel possesses the training necessary to run a successful operation. He began his career as a Business Development Manager for Eclipse, one of Australia’s Premiere Sporting Companies.

Daniel is no stranger to the health and fitness world. He managed to squeeze in a career as a professional rugby player while working full time in Australia. Unfortunately a torn ACL put an end to his dream of having a full time rugby career. Craving adventure and excitement he left Australia on a surfing expedition through Asia and Central America.

After his travels he quickly fell in love with California and decided to make his new home in LA. His skill and passion for rugby never did subside. Dean quickly recruited Daniel to play for the local San Fernando Valley rugby team where he helped guide them to their first Semi Final appearance in 3 years.

Daniel has been involved with many blue chip companies over the years including Coca Cola and Oracle. His work experience, education and adventurous spirit make him the perfect bloke to oversee the day-to-day operations for NZF. Daniel has been responsible for implementing many new divisions within NZF and he continues to be instrumental in the continued growth of NZF.
